Product Description

The Optris ACCTLW is a robust stainless steel water-cooled housing designed to protect high-performance infrared pyrometers in demanding industrial environments with elevated ambient temperatures.

Engineered specifically for the CSlaser, CTlaser, CSvideo, and CTvideo (CxL / CxV) series, this cooling jacket enables reliable and accurate non-contact temperature measurement even when ambient temperatures reach up to +175 °C (+347 °F). By circulating cooling water around the sensing head, it effectively dissipates heat and prevents thermal damage to the sensor while maintaining full measurement precision.

    What maximum ambient temperature can the pyrometers withstand with water cooling?

    The pyrometers can operate in ambient temperatures up to 65°C without cooling. For higher ambient temperatures, the water-cooled housing, which extends operation up to 175 °C.

    What cooling water flow rate and connection specifications are required?

    For the water-cooled housing, the recommended water flow rate is approximately 2 liters per minute. Hose connections are 6×8 mm with G 1/8 inch threads. Maximum cooling water pressure of 8 bar. Clean, oil-free water should be used to prevent deposits in the cooling channels.

    Are additional accessories required to prevent condensation and contamination?

    Yes. When using water cooling, condensation can form on the optics and electronics, potentially causing damage that is not covered by warranty. To prevent condensation, use the optional air purge collar (ACCTLAP) to keep the optics clear and above the dew point. An air purge also protects the lens from dust and dirt in industrial environments. Additionally, high-temperature cables rated up to 180°C (or 250°C) are recommended for the sensor.
