Infrared Application Packages

Ready-to-Deploy Infrared Temperature Measurement Solutions

Microscope stand accessory for Optris PI infrared camera close-up measurement

Ready to Deploy Infrared Measurement Packages for Industrial Requirements

Infrared cameras and pyrometers enable non-contact temperature measurement across many industries. Specific tasks, however, require purpose-built combinations of imaging heads, optics, and accessories. Curated packages assemble matched components for the most common scenarios.

For electronics and semiconductor research, packages combine high-resolution radiometric cameras with microscope optics to enhance imaging capabilities. These optics map detector pixels onto sub-millimeter targets such as semiconductor lead junctions. When required, the same setup can be paired with standard PI-Series optics to switch between full-field and microscopic thermography.

For maintenance and safety tasks, packages pair thermal cameras with visible-video modules, Ethernet converters, wall mounts, and protective enclosures. Hardware is specified for both hot and cold environments, supporting continuous condition monitoring of critical assets and early detection of fires and hot spots. Installed monitoring under all load conditions yields a more complete dataset than periodic handheld inspections.

For glass production, a bottom-up inspection package measures low-E glass at the underside of the sheet, where the measurement geometry ensures high temperature accuracy.

In industrial furnaces and kilns, the cooling of thermal cameras and pyrometers is another constraint, as these preconfigured and assembled packages are deployed to enable thermography in harsh environments.

Condition Monitoring Systems

Thermal Asset Monitoring & Fire Safety with Outdoor Infrared Condition Monitoring

Thermal asset monitoring and safety, combined with outdoor infrared condition monitoring, keep critical equipment and sites under constant watch. Fixed thermal cameras track surface temperatures on conveyors, transformers, silos, tanks, and switchgear, revealing unusual heat long before smoke, flame, or failure occurs. Weatherproof housings, air purge units, and protective windows enable 24/7 operation outdoors. This continuous thermal data supports early warnings, automatic shutdowns, and clear temperature trends for maintenance and safety planning.

IR Microscopes

Innovations in Thermal Microscopy for Industry and R&D

Optris combines high-resolution uncooled bolometers with precise microscope optics to place enough pixels on microscopic targets for truly accurate temperature readings. Optris IR Microscopes actively create images and maps based on a sample’s thermal properties, including temperature and heat conductivity. They reveal subtle temperature gradients, hot spots, and defects that conventional inspection methods often miss. Engineers and researchers use these thermal instruments to diagnose microelectronic failures, study material properties, and enforce quality control.

Infrared Glass Inspection Systems

Optris Glass Inspection Systems for Precise Temperature Measurement of Flat Tempered and Low-E Glass
Optris Thermal Glass Inspection Systems transform temperature control in Low-E glass tempering. They deliver real-time thermal data for every glass sheet leaving the furnace. The Bottom-Up system mounts two infrared cameras beneath the line to monitor the uncoated, high-emissivity side of the glass. The thermal measurement system integrates a pyrometer with automatic shutter control to protect the optics in case of glass breakage. Even when the thermal camera’s field of view is obstructed, the line-scan software reconstructs full-sheet thermal images.
