Water Cooled Housing for CxL/CxV

ACCTLW: Stainless Steel Water-Cooled Protection for Precision Temperature Measurement

The Optris ACCTLW is a stainless-steel water-cooled housing (also called a cooling jacket) designed as an accessory for Optris infrared pyrometers. It protects the sensor’s sensing head in high-ambient-temperature industrial environments.

Key Features and Specifications

  • Material: Stainless steel.
  • Maximum Ambient Temperature: Up to 175°C (347°F) with active water cooling. Without cooling, the compatible sensing heads typically handle up to 70–85°C, depending on the model.
  • Compatibility: Primarily for the CSlaser, CTlaser (CxL), CSvideo, and CTvideo (CxV) series of high-performance and video pyrometers. It is not intended for the Xi thermal imager series or other Optris lines (those use different housings like ACXIMW or ACCSVIWA).
  • Cooling Connections:
    • Hose connection: 6 × 8 mm.
    • Thread/fitting: G 1/8 inch.

Product Description

The Optris ACCTLW is a robust stainless steel water-cooled housing designed to protect high-performance infrared pyrometers in demanding industrial environments with elevated ambient temperatures.

Engineered specifically for the CSlaser, CTlaser, CSvideo, and CTvideo (CxL / CxV) series, this cooling jacket enables reliable and accurate non-contact temperature measurement even when ambient temperatures reach up to +175 °C (+347 °F). By circulating cooling water around the sensing head, it effectively dissipates heat and prevents thermal damage to the sensor while maintaining full measurement precision.

Key Features

  • Durable stainless-steel construction for long-term use in harsh conditions
  • Supports continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 175 °C with active water cooling
  • Easy hose connections: 6 × 8 mm (hose) and G 1/8″ thread
  • Recommended water flow: approx. 3–5 l/min (minimum ~2 l/min) at 3–10 bar pressure
  • Cooling water temperature should not exceed 30 °C for optimal performance
  • Compact design that integrates seamlessly with Optris pyrometers

FAQs

What is the Optris ACCTLW?

The ACCTLW is a stainless steel water-cooled housing (cooling jacket) designed to protect Optris infrared pyrometers in high-ambient-temperature environments. It allows reliable operation when surrounding temperatures reach up to +175 °C (+347 °F).

Which pyrometers is it compatible with?

It is specifically designed for the CSlaser, CTlaser, CSvideo, and CTvideo series (also referred to as CxL / CxV models). It is not compatible with the Xi thermal imager series or compact models.

What are the recommended water cooling parameters?

  • Water flow rate: Approx. 3 – 5 l/min (minimum ~2 l/min)
  • Water pressure: 3 – 10 bar
  • Cooling water temperature: Should not exceed 30 °C for best performance

Use clean, oil-free water to avoid deposits.

Do I need additional accessories?

Yes — it is highly recommended to combine the ACCTLW with the ACCTLAP air purge collar to protect the optics from dust, dirt, and condensation. High-temperature sensor cables (up to 180 °C) are also advised.

What is the difference between the ACCTLW and other cooling housings?

The ACCTLW supports up to 175 °C ambient temperature for the high-performance CxL/CxV pyrometers. For CSvision series, Optris offers the ACCSVIWA, which supports up to 250 °C.

What are typical applications?

Metal processing, glass manufacturing, furnace monitoring, foundries, and other hot industrial processes where standard pyrometers would overheat.

Does it include mounting hardware?

No. Separate mounting brackets are available: ACCTLFB (one-axis adjustable) or ACCTLABT (two-axis adjustable).
