Infrared Detectors
Infrared detectors are able to convert radiation in the infrared wavelength range into an electrical signal. The measuring principle is based either on the heating of the detector material through absorption of electromagnetic radiation (thermal detector) or on the photoelectric effect in a semi-conductor material (quantum detector).
Infrared detectors enable a non-contact measurement based on the emitted infrared radiation from an object.
