More Information

This video explains how to adapt the emissivities to different measurement objects in order to precisely measure the temperature without contact.

In the experimental setup, four objects with different surfaces were placed on a heating plate. All objects would have to have the same temperature as the heating plate. The metal object, however, is much cooler. This is due to metal having a different emissivity than the surface of the heating plate. In order to obtain the correct temperature, the emissivities are adjusted with the help of an emissivity label.
